Prolon on My Travel Day
Today I am traveling from San Francisco to New York (SFO to JFK). I left my house in the morning and won’t arrive at my final destination until later tonight. I decided to use today to do a Prolon Reset, especially because I am traveling alone and have no plans to share meals with anyone.
I use Prolon 5 Day FMD regularly (4-6x) year and I plant to integrate more one day Prolon Resets in between my FMD rounds.
I had my one cup of coffee at home and my L-Bar on BART on the way to SFO. Obviously, I wasn’t able to soak my soups in advance. Once checked through and at my gate, I decided to spring for the large-size compostable hot cup for 57 cents. I plan to put my soup in there and get hot water during the flight beverage service. I thought about bringing my Yeti thermos with me but decided I didn’t want to carry that just for the soups on the flight.
Update: Well, I did it. Here I am in my NY digs for the next 10 days (Vegan in New York post). The easiest part about doing Prolon today was that I was essentially solo the entire day. It was easy to pack the supplies and I didn’t pack food like I normally do and/or spend the time getting food at the airport. I was glad I got the large cup. The flight attendants were happy to fill it up with hot water for me and I mixed in the soup packets. The Butternut Squash soup was pretty creamy with some vigorous mixing but the Mushroom soup afterwards had lots of little lumps and clumps. If I do this again on a travel day, I’d probably bring the thermos just so I could shake the soups after hydrating them. All the other food items were ready-to-eat and easy to carry. All-in-all, I’d say it was a successful Prolon One Day Reset experience!
